Syllabus items covered include: Safety, Halyards & Sheets, Points of Sail, Navigation, Helming, Anchoring & Mooring.
You'll enjoy seven hours hands-on training on the water with a maximum of 5 students. This is an introduction to sailing aboard a yacht in sheltered waters and includes one-on-one instruction in basic boat skills. Course will be run over one day & if you have a Boat Licence or have done the Boatschool Licence course, you will also be awarded the YA Certificate.
The training yacht is a Seawind 1000 cruising catamaran which is a very responsive, stable boat that will give you plenty of confidence. This course is recommended for those looking to charter a yacht. Achieving the YA Certificate entitles you to a 10% discount from “Whitsunday Rent-A-Yacht”* & is also a prerequisite by other charter companies (*excluding High Season or in conjunction with any other offers).
